Hate to do it but it's just going to rot sitting here.
4.8, TH400, NP208, Nearly rust free. Needs exhaust and trans front pump seal. $6500. St Louis Area / Southern Illinois
This 86 K5 was originally a USGS truck that started its live out west, before spending some time somewhere down south (Louisiana, Mississippi, etc) and finally my dad bought it and brought it up here in 2010.
I'd consider it 90% rust free, with its only notable exterior rust being a quarter size spot behind the drivers rear wheel well that hasn't shown any growth in the last 10+ years. Underneath is nearly just as clean, with one seat bolt pulling through the floor and the obligatory battery rust on the core support.
Two years ago I put a 2014 4.8 from a wrecked 3/4 ton van with approx. 40k miles in it, run through an MSD 6014 and a 750 CFM Holley 4150 that could likely use a rebuild. (Just a carb I had on hand at the time) it has the factory van manifolds that clear fine, but I never finished the exhaust system. I have the flanges and stub pieces to weld onto though.
The TH400 was in it already when my dad got it, and I put a 2800 stall Vega style converter in it when I put the 4.8 in, in anticipation for a cam that never happened.
The original driver side front fender was about 60% bondo, so it's got an aftermarket LMC fender, as well as a different hood because I can only assume an elephant had sat on the original.
$6500 Or best offer.
