86 k5 ignition control

i have been having problems with the ignition on my 86k5. is there a way to disable the electronic spark control module that is behind the glove box? will a standard hei ignition module work in the distributor?

You can replace the insides with a regular HEI rebuild kit if its a vacuum advance model .

Or buy a regular HEI if its not .
