My 86 k5 is sort of studdering when i go to pull out at redlights and such and even if i let off and get back into the throttle while driving.i just replaced the dist cap, rotor button and ign control module and now i have this. It was fine before hand. I dont know if i could have unplugged a vaccum or somethi g or if its just coincidence. It has a 350 with a quadrajet. Also it has a low rpm miss but does fine once i get into it. Any suggestions?

Egr

Check your EGR valve, at low RPM or when you give it some gass it will cause a vehicle to stutter and stamer and have a strange exhaust note, should be located to the rear laft of carb and require 2 bolts to remove. get some carb cleaner and a all to cleane out the barbon. where your vacume line hooks up to it try to suck on it and when you do you should feel the little valve on the bottom open also check and see if you have vacume going to it. remember it only developes vacume enough to open it at higher RPM so checking it at idle will not be acurate.

Check the easy (free) stuff first. Make sure the distributor wasn't turned, that the wires are good and plugged in tight. I was having a similar problem and after replacing a bunch of crap found out my wire boots were bad (3 of them).

Also, pull out your spark plugs and check the depth on the gap between the center and ground electrodes. I was having shudders after taking off from red lights, but after tightening up everything, it has not happened since!
