Ok I've been dinking with my starter for a week now and it will not engage, I have power to everything but my starter. I pulled it apart last night and cleaned everything up, put it all together, and it was fine for about 3 starts, now it's dead again. I replaced the battery terminal and nothing, I have power to all systems but the starter. I have ruled out the Neutral Safety switch. I need help as it is all I have to drive right now.

is the solenoid clicking at all?

you might also want to check and make sure you are getting signal from the ignition switch when you turn the key.

When you say you have no power to the starter, do you mean the start signal or the battery power? The battery power should not be interrupted by anything unless the battery terminal or the cable to the starter are bad. The cable may have failed internally due to corrosion inside the insulation. The start signal is a different story, since there are lots of things to interrupt that.

ill bite,

1st test your battery, use a multimeter and post the results

2nd, test light or voltage meter to the small purple wire on your solenoid

3rd, test voltage coming from the battery to the starter

other options, try to crank it using a flat blade screw driver and touch the two terminals on the solenoid, also make sure the solenoid was not over tightened to the point of breaking the cap and causing it to be loose. Ive done it once and seen it on other trucks. It can cause non starting or random no starts with it moving around and being loose in there.

your starter always has power, its the 12 volts from the ign that triggers it, id start by verifying it will start with the screw driver trick, then go from there.

post up efforts and results

It could be the fusible link located by the starter or up on the firewall. Everything works, but when you turn the key to start, nothing. Not even a click. I ended up ripping out the old alarm system out of mine because it was all butchered up. I figured it was something wired wrong with it, but it ended up being the fusible link by the starter.
