You know, last time I pulled a clutch out, there were issues. Clutch fork had an ever so slight twist in it

Was the clutch chattering for a while before failing?

Ya, those springs take a beating when the clutch chatters.

LUK clutches are the brand most mechanics will only use around here,or they stick with OEM parts from a dealer...anything else is a crap shoot..

I had a new clutch in my VW Jetta diesel that was installed days before I bought it,and the disc did the same thing--a spring popped out and got wedged in the pressure plate ,so it wouldn't release...

When I took it apart I could still see the ink printing on the disc that said "Raybestos"--after I bought an LUK clutch at Pep-Boys for about $95,I learned the diesels need a different disc with rubber cork like cushins instead of the coil springs,I guess the diesel's vibes and torque are too great for a gas engine clutch disc with the coil springs, though they are otherwise identical..

I used all made in japan clutch parts on my 85 toyota. I got the parts from marlin crawler. I have about 50k on my clutch so far.

I got a flat tire in mine today...dammit!

I always bought factory parts for my imports when I had them, Toyota and Datsun. Never had trouble with oem parts.
Same for the VW we have now.
