Ok so a guy i work with has an 86 toyota truck. he brought it to a mechanic that I'm pretty sure is either a crook or just doesn't know what hes doing but I'm leaning towards the first. Anyway the horn didn't work most likely due to the after market steering wheel so the guy put in a new button on the dash to work the horn. now the hazard lights don't work the guy said he thinks its missing a relay which is probably true because he probably took it out. i just wanted to verify this so i can get a replacement if thats actually the problem. if you push the hazard switch nothing happens but if you turn on the turn signals while the hazards are "on" they don't work so i don't know if that means theres a relay problem or not. if any of you guys know anything about these trucks that would be great. thanks allot

The quickest and cheapest way to find out about the relay would be to replace it yourself. They are only a couple of bucks if that. Now did the hazard lights work before you took the truck to this guy?

On my 82 Toyota, there is a horn relay as well as a hazard relay mounted to the fuse block on the firewall, maybe he's missing his relay, or it's loose.

thanks allot guys, so there is a relay thats probably it then. do i need to know anything to get one or can i just tell them hazard relay?
