The transfer case and tranny have be flawless and drip free until this past weekends trip towing the race car. It appears that trans fluid is leaking out of either the transfer case, possibly the mount area cant realy tell as the entire underneath of the truk is covered. The trans is dry as a bone.....is there some comon problem where the transfer case and mount mate or something that I am overlooking? Does the transfer case and tranny share fluid some how? I just replace the tail housing seal where the drive shaft hooks up a few hundred miles ago.....

thanks

They only share fluid if your tcase input seal is leaking... I just replaced mine for the second time.:doah:

There's also a gasket between the adaptor(what the mount bolts too) and the tcase, and probably one between the trans and the adaptor as well, I just haven't had that one apart yet.

I'd say clean it up, then run it a little and see if you can determine where it's coming from after it gets hot.

after getting the beast out of the truck how technical are the transfer cases as far as splitting them and resealing everything?

A gasket and 3 seals you pull out and punch back in, not bad at all. Just make sure you get the correct seals. I ended up getting mine from the dealership because the ones I got from the parts store originally were wrong.

My input seal on the t-case recently went bad and let the tranny pump all of it's fluid into the t-case and out the vent at the top.

Do you have to split the t-cas to install the seals or is everything external and easily accessed?

Is there a gasket kit on the markey that has the three seals or do I have to purchase a entire rebuilt kit?

I like the idea of getting them from the dealership!! What are the technical names for the seals (input shaft) and what else?
