Anyone know how the later model EFI Air cleaner cans work? The thermostatic valve has a plunger which opens the valve, but there does not appear to be any electric of vacuum connection to power it. Is there some sort of internal heat energized spring that activates the plunger?

My shop manuals are packed away, but as I recall there is some type of wax inside that expands and contracts as the temp changes.

Yep. There is a post on the board where it was explained and a scan of the manual posted. Wax pellet sort of actuator.

Thanks.
I verified that the sensor is working so it appears to be a non-issue other than for info.
