87-95 sbc valve stem seals

whats up with the fel pro valve stem seals they give you in the head gasket sets ?

the exhaust oens are white plastic umbrella type and the intakes are blue rubber with metal banding

wierd ?!

can either be used on 86 older heads ?


i thought umbrellas were only for intakes ?

whats up with these funky blue metal banded intake ones ?

did they change the heads alot more than i think in 87 ? i thought all they changed was valve covers and four center intake bolt holes angle, hmm..

GM has changed the seal several times over the years. The blue metal banded seals are good and as long as they will fit the guides on your earlier heads then they can be used. Some of the GM heads from later years had the guides machined to accept different valve seals so it's a hit or miss thing. Later GM engines don't even use the O-rings anymore either.
