New Blazer owner here. Been lurking for the past couple weeks.

The transfer case is leaking, and I'm wondering how difficult it is to pull it and put new gaskets on it? Any recommendations for a place to get the gasket kit? I tried ATP AT-205 Gasket Re-Seal which is supposed to recondition old gaskets. It helped, but didn't stop the leak.

The seats don't seem to lock back very well. The driver's seat does lock a little bit, but the passenger's seat doesn't at all. Any ideas on how to fix that?

Here's a picture of it:

The passenger seat if it islike an 1989 has a little black plastic part on the out side edge inder the gurd on side. when the seat is flopped down it pushes the thing down and lets the seat slide forwerd. Look and see if it is stuck down. I ont know about drivers seat mines all welded the PO broked it. He was a lard ass.

I don't think they are supposed to lock until the brakes are hit hard like locking up your seat belt. I believe they are on a cintrifiigal or weighted type lockup.

Hope i was talking about the right stuff. Did you mean the recline mech. of the seats, or the sliders?

Any ideas on who's gasket kit I should buy, or does it not matter?

I'm new to domestic trucks, so I don't know the brands very well.

Thanks,
Mike

The reclining mechanism. The sliders work fine, but the seat backs themselves don't lock.

Do you mean they fold forward with out any effort? I hope you mean they don't flop back :doah:.

Yes, they fold forward with out effort. Most cars and trucks I've riden, the seat will fold forward when the lever is pulled, but then locks.

im not sure if these blazers are supposed to act that way. i know mine swing forward with no problem.

Yea the ones in my blazer will fold forward with no problem and the passenger one slides forward too.
