I found a great deal on an 87 3500 4x4 chassis. I'm not sure about two things -

1. Is the rear axle in a duallie truck the same length as that in a srw truck? The thing is far enough away that it's not convenient to just go measure it.

2. What's involved in changing the front axle to fit a blazer?

Any help would be appreciated.

I would really like to know the answer to that question too.

If it is a pickup truck and not a cab and chassis then yes the rear is wider than a SRW truck. If it is a pickup those axles are perfect to run stock H1 beadlocks on.:D Should be a Dana60 front with a Dana 70 rear, It could be a wide 14FF though either one is the same width on a dually pickup. If you put SRW hubs from a rear axle on the wide axle the track width will be the same front and rear.
