I'm looking for a factory roll bar for my new 87. I've checked local junkyards and have searched the internet over, but have yet to se what I'm looking for. Does anyone know where these can be had, or if one from a short bed Chevy fit?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

if im not mistaken there was an integrated roll bar into the roof. you may be thinking of the smittybilt rollbar?

Yeah, I was thinking like more of an actual rool bar behind the integrated one. For nothing more than looks really, as I don't intend on 4 wheeling it very much. Just a resto. project!

So are youy saying that smittybilt makes these?

I don't think Smittybilt still makes these. I've been looking for one for about a year, with no luck. Have not seen one on Smittybilt's site.

you might, might be able to find one at a 4wp somewhere. i would suggest making one. it will be wayyy beffier than that and look exactly how you want it to.

i put a 4 inch chrome one in my 87 in 1990.it was made by hobrech.i dont know if they still make them or if they are even still in buisness.

Well to be specific, there was no "factory" roll bar, it was a dealer option. A rare one at that. I found one in an ad back in december and I went to go check it out, but it doesn't fit my stepside because the rear mounts sit on top on the wheel wells in a fleetside. But the original dealer option one is way way way way way better quality than any after market one is. Its a full 1 piece tube made of thicker tubing than the after market ones. and the mounts are beefier.

Check ebay for one. You might get lucky.
