so i had a dash light out top of the speedo area and reached up in behind the dash and swapped it no problem ........ now my 12 volt gauge and high beam indicator dont work and also my front side marker/turn signals dont flash unless the parking lights or head lights are on .

any idea what i might have done before i tear the dash out ?

all the rest of the lights work just fine .

Looks like you disturbed the ground

well i took out the dash and even swapped the headlight switch . no change for the front side turn signals . then i took out the new led bulbs and swapped in 194 reg style and all good . so it looks like the flip/flop of the 2 wire polarity of this location just dont play with polarity sensitive led bulbs . humm got to play some more i guess . . when i was testing i guess it was with the markers on also and i never noticed this .

as for the volt gauge and high-beam light i found the printed circuit board was going bad with contacts not secure anymore so it was loosing connection . so i swapped in another good one i had to my cluster since years ago i did the chrome paint trick to mine .

I would think that possibly you disturbed the cluster plug enough for something to lose connection. But I don't think that the front side markers are affected by that. As far as I know, they are hooked to the marker light AND turn circuits. This only works with incandescent or non-polarity LED. Didn't you just swap those to LED?

@Justin V had issues with those LEDs, ended up going to a different blinker module in the fuse block

my unit flashes fine . its electronic . its the fact gm flip/flops the wire pinout for non marker / turn or marker / turn use .

i have found some that specify NON-polarity sensitive . after xmas going to try them .
