87 gmc build thread

thanks! plans are to convert the front to 8-lug ,4.56 gears first then maybe a little protection , i also want to relocate the rear shock mounts ,d-60 eventually , but right now i need to figure out what angle shims i need. the rear vibrates like crazy when i let of the gas at freeway speeds and when im decelerarting from freeway speeds

post a pic of your rear driveshaft angle. i would think you need to shim your pinion down, as the shackle flip rotates it up.

Here's a stupid question regarding your vibration: When you installed the 14 bolt, you DID change the rear U-joint over with a conversion joint, right?

i dropped the t-case 1 inch when i first lifted it and that took away all vibrations, but now that i swapped in the 14 im feelin them

i checked it out, i think im gonna park it until i can get acess to an angle finder, i think i got it now.

heres a pic of my tailgate. i took the front grill emblems off a 63 gmc at the pick n pull . I painted em and made a stencil so that their nice and centered then i drilled and mounted them with bolts from the back.

wow i forgot about the biggest future plan, lol. i got a 350 out of a 92 ck and i was planing on takeing it down and building it back up with a new mild cam and vortec heads and manifold. any ideas for a cam? also would i have to change anything along the fuel system to account for the bigger fuel demand of the 350 over the current 305?

sub box center console. 10in kicker comp cvr backed by 650watts sounds awsome with the amped alpine type s's and the soundstream 3.5s
