87 GMC Sierra tire queston

hello,
i have an 87 GMC Sierra 2500 and i was wondering what tires i could put on with out a lift.

With stock wheels being 16s, 285/75. With some trimming 315s. 16.5s, 33s, and trimming 25s. Seen a stock stock truck with 36s on it, the fenders were trimmed, and by looking at them, you wouldn't even know.....
