I have an 87 K30 Crewcab I use for towing my play truck and truck camper. It has developed a new problem I can't figure out. It will only start if I pour a little gas directly in the throttle body. It runs great if you stand on the throttle a bit but has erattic idle and runs rich. The injectors have a nice even spray when running with no drops of fuel. I have replaced the fuel pumps and filter. I tested the fuel pressure at 13 Psi. I replaced the distributor as the coil pickup tells the injector when to pulse. I replaced the plugs, cap, rotor, and plug wires. I checked all the vacume hoses for leaks. I replaced the O2 sensor, coolant temp sensor, map sensor, and TPS sensor. The problem still exists.I connected my MAC computer to it, no codes and showing everything normal except fot showing engine rich. A friend wanted me to replace the ECM so I pulled the ECM from my 87 350 truck with the same number ECM with exactly the same results. I am getting ready to pull the engine for rebuild but I need it to start and run right before I pull it. Any help would be great. Respond here or directly to my email at silverado9019 at yahoo. I have seen on the net where a lot of trucks have similiar problems but havent seen where anyone figured it out. I am about ready to scrap the TBI and put on a carb and HEI distributor but I like the mileage of the TBI.

If it has the carb intake to tbi adapter check the base gasket they have been know to get sucked in when they get old so all you may need is a new base gasket between the intake and the adapter.
