87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

about the herculiner

FYI, The other big reason I haven't been real happy with Herc. is that it is impossible to clean, so it always looks filthy. That's ok, I suppose, but I like the option of cleaning.[/QUOTE]

I agree my herculiner looks bad all the time and tears rags up when I try to wipe it down. Also maybe I did something wrong but it is peeling up on a fresh piece of sheet metal I used to replace a rust hole, for a 100 bucks for the kit and gallon Im still not happy with it. Sorry to rant in your thread.
Truck looks amazing, your patience is crazy haha.

patience doesn't begin to describe what I'm doing right now..... ;)

I don't think it is a matter of getting the tube though both plates as it is matter of sliding one plate at a time over the tube.

Btw. it look like that tube on that aftermarket bumper is 3" diameter. It looks too big.

Right and right.

for the record, i had considered doing my main tube that way, but didn't like the way it worked with my removable skid... I'm not concerned with strength as the main tube has over 2' of weld to the center section of the bumper..

most wont dig this, but i wanted to see how it would look... if i don't like it, i can always reburnish it.. you'll have to excuse the crappy, spotty pic, i'm back on the old camera as i can't get the new one working with this old 98 machine..

I like shiny things I want to do the bumpers on the jimmy out of stainless, well most of the outside parts at least.

I say leave it shiny

your crappy pics look like my good pics.lol.i love that bumper and the engine sits in nicely.you going to do the engine cage also and connect it in to the front dash part of the cage?with the firewall smoothed it looks like you arent, but your build changes as your vision of how you want your truck to be.just wonderin.

yeah, that was a quickie polish... it's got a few swirls i'll pull out at some point... might try some of that shark hyde on it once it's perfect...

the plan at this point is not caging the front...... i'm itching to get the 60 hung so i can get going on the shock tower/x-bar setup mocked up...

If both of your cameras use SD cards, you should be able to take the card out of your new camera with the good pics and put it in the old camera to transfer to your computer.

i have a card for neither... :doah: i plan to get one for the new camera... i'm also just gonna break down over the next couple weeks and get a whole new comp... sick of dealing with ancient junk..... this 98 tower barely runs, bumps me offline every 10 minutes or so...

big dungeon cleanup today...... what a freakin dustbin! :haha:

I knew it had ghosts! :doah: :haha:

I hate unexpected expenses that take away from the build... f*ck it, I'm getting a decent tower and a nice Samsung 24' monitor next week.... the Summit order will have to wait....

Be sure to hit Newegg(.com) up and not Best Buy...... Most of the time theres a free flat panel with a tower purchase....

hmmm, i've been looking around Newegg a bit and haven't seen any deals like that....

IDK if you are a laptop guy, but Staples had a killer deal on an HP with a 17.3 inch screen and some goodies for $500... I caved haha

ya if you just use your computer for internet/simple picture uploads, you do not need anything fancy, you shouldnt have to pay more than like 500bucks at most for a nice laptop and even less for a desktop.
