87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

I'm not demeaning the standard pushed ballsports.. ..

it's just a deep-seated need for the general masses to understand how incredible skating is... on an athletic level, etc.. it was sooooooo dismissed by the masses of my generation...

I didn't take it as demeaning, I think I knew what you were talking about. I just wanted to make sure others didn't either.

The general masses are often incredibly stupid. I find myself telling my wife that "I love person but I sure hate people" on a regular basis.

Can't wait to see the progress on both Mutt and the K5.

I dig the old school skate stuff  , I was big into it in my early teens. I'm 10 years behind you, so I was skating during the peak of the Bones Brigade :D, I actually found an old Cab mid size complete with Indy 169's and bullet 66's :pimp: at my parents that I forgot I had. I grew up in a pretty rural area so it was all private mini's and a couple of big half's but no real street and definitely no pools.
I totally agree with the commitment required, hell I still remember clearly the first time I dropped in on a friends 10 footer :eek1: :D I'll never forget that. My true passion is motocross, and like skating most mainstream "ball sport" people have no clue as to the physical, mental and endurance requirements of mx. Lining up with 30+ others riders on the line, the drag race to the first corner, trying to make the 50' double right out of the rutted 180* off camber corner while battling 3 other guys for the "good" line ...............

But, ya, totally respect the skate stuff .........and always dug L7, I think my favorite girl rock is some of the stuff by "The Distillers", always loved the vocals of Brody Dalle

that's cool. 95% of society is the same... I just want people to recognize, that's all...

Yeah, my brother used to skate a little street and he tried getting me into. Not being the most coordinated person and being a little on the large side didn't help. I can roll pretty good, but ask me to do anything other than that and I'm useless :haha::haha:

I akways know my soul bro's of this forum..

and that's not to discount anyone.... it's more just a recognition of something that msy have been lost in American society. as L7 put's it...

I certainly appreciate anyone who, somewhat lived it, and respected it.... it's just a general, put out to the Superbowl, World series crowd line of thinking
I'd like to promote.. and I certainly understand the efforts that have been made in that regard..

it's just one as a vert skater, I feel obligated to... push.. sorry.. :doah:

it's all good fella's.. I know plenty understand.. and, I hate dragging this off the K5 build....

soon, I promise...

back in the day in rural Alabama skateboarding really never caught on...we had gravel roads, no sidewalks, and the paved roads had a high gravel content..so no place to skateboard...
I spent every spare moment of my life playing guitar from the time I was 12 till I was 30...so I get the music part...I'm just burned out on that because I spent so many years in that scene and never got to where I wanted to be with it...
I play every now and then...it never leaves you really...but I needed a break...

amen... I tried drums.. never had any skill.. but lived and breathed Ted, Aerosmth, Zep and Sab riffs... hardcore rocker, never a musician..

:(

skating on a commitment I had, is one I know most would not understand... that's all good.. it's just something/a passion, I try to convey at this point..

only skaters understand that "looking at society, loading docks, concrete society" mentality of things.. as stupid ass that sounds... :doah: :haha:

Paul. This thread is getting out of hand more than mine... Just sayin

Nice work, Post whore approves :thumb:

I don't input much on here, but I definitely find all of it interesting:waytogo:.

you should put some zerk fittings in your joints... then you could earn some uber cool kid points for having greasable knees. :D i read a story a while back where in some east Asian country, some woman was having frequent silicon injections in her lips. She ended up getting sick a few years later. It turns out the plastic surgeon was filling her lips up with automotive grade silicon grease... :yikes:

Even though this was like 2 years ago, figured id add to it. There was a a hood rat salon owner arrested for preforming cosmetic surgery in the back room of her salon, here in tyler texas.... she was giving women breast/butt implants using construction grade silicon also!
Google it if you doubt it ..... "salon cosmetic surgery tyler texas"

Anyways, ive spent the last two days reading this thread..... OHHH MANNN. This thing is awesome!!!! The fender sculpting is awesome! Thats totally a lost art. My dad still does body work, and always comments how some new hack body man can wipe and sand bondo like its nobodys business, but cant do metal work to save their life.

wasn't there some doc deal in Fla the same recently? injecting peoples butt's with concrete and stuff.... :haha:

playing golf sunday for the first time in 2 yr's... but all day sat on the K5...

Yeah. One of the girls that had it was a guest in tyra bamks talk show.....

Unfortunately paid up or not the vid/ music post don't come through on my phone. But l7 is the shiznit. So yes I get it.

On the other side, I played baseball, football, swimming and most importantly motocross and I have been more scared on a bike than I ever was on a board so.......

As far as the skating goes was there and did and totally agree that it takes extreme sac-atude to drop in on something you know 3 outta 5 times you are going to allow concrete or wood rape your face, but you have to do it.

Now at 42 I still play and coach ball, and on occasion still ride the bikes, but my damn 13 yr old has got me back on a board to help teach him to Ollie and kickflip and I am loving every minute of it. Hello concrete here is my face.

With my broken knee in not supposed to skate at all. It's hard because my kids skate Now and they kept Asking me how to do tricks and they couldn't understand what I was telling them to do. So I said f it and took one of their boards and showed them. They were as surprised as I was when I popped a decent Pop shuv it and a kick flip within a couple try's. now I'm rolling around
Again trying To not Kill my knee again. L7 is pretty awesome. Good vids. Now get back to the trucks. Lol

"she's a brick.... howse....she's mighty mighty.....just lettin; it all hang out" :haha:

I like it when this happens to threads sometimes. Gives it more of a garage feeling. Your not always wrenching when you and your buddies are in the garage. You also spend a lot of time bsing and listening to music and drinking. So I find it fun.
