Incredible work, very very impressive:bow:

any big plans for the drivetrain?

thank ya sir.... :D

everything behind the motor will be fresh and beef... for now it's getting the nearly stock TBI back in..

reverse manual valve body 700r4 with all the best goodies, 205 with driveline brake, all 1410 shaft stuff from Jesse down to 1 tons with 5.13's, detroit, 35 spline stubs with drive flanges, yada, yada... :haha:

eventually, I'll be doing a Megasquirt controlled 383 for it.... phase 2... :wink1:

freakin awesome fab skillz bro! they covered cage work on extreme 4x4 yesterday I think. It was on my tivo. but they had a pretty cool program for your computer it was called "bend-tech pro"
http://www.powerblocktv.com/site3/index.php/xtreme4x4-episodes?ep_num=XT2009-17&ep_sea=0902

I actually caught that episode... :wink1: I've dumped soooo much coin over the last year that I just couldn't invest in the software at this point... think I've spent like 12 g's on parts, new welder, bender, etc in the last 12 months... :doah::crazy::o eventually I'll get it for future projects, but for now the bending was done completely redneck, angle finders, tape measure, my eye, Ouiga board, etc...

The back cage section is on hold for a couple weeks till I get a couple paychecks from my new job... as anxious as I am to get the tube work done, i honestly have another couple weeks at least finishing the floor/tunnel, frame tie-ins, etc.... and I am anxious to do the back.. I think it's gonna be badarse, and way, way, way easier than all the cab work was... should go quick... the floor/tunnel is proving to be more tedious than I had hoped, no big, it'll get done....

and thanks mang.. it always means a ton to me when car/truck guys appreciate what I'm doing...

If you want the software....BUY IT, don't be a douche and rip it off.

2020 Software is not some nameless, faceless corporation it's run by an enthusiast named Cris, a guy who is active on fabrication forums...helps people figure out their software for free and invites people to call him DIRECTLY for help with issues or setup problems. He's written an awesome piece of software that helps make the job a LOT easier and has earned the right to charge a few bucks for a copy of it. The amount of time he spends support people after the sale is just phenomenal.

Besides, once you start learning it, you're going to want to be able to ask questions in his message forums and it's going to be seriously uncomfortable when he runs your name and email through his database and realizes that you've never paid for the copy you're using.

hopefully you know me better than that Greg.... like I said, down the road... maybe when I do that Chevelle cage I'll invest in it...

nah, I know, thanks....

I'm pretty big on supporting stuff like that.... think it comes from my skating "support your local shop" mentality....

quick question for ya Greg.... what did it end up costing you to convert over to hydraulic? $600ish?

Just over $800 with shipping and no sales tax... that was for the hydro stuff / hoses / fittings, etc. But not the custom CNC'ed bender arms...those were extra $$$.

Obviously, you can do a air/hydro conversion a LOT cheaper than my hydro/hydro setup, so it could be done for a couple hundred bucks if you didn't mind it going a little slower and having to use your compressor to run the bender.

However, I do have a friend that probably already has it for his baja bug project. Didnt mean to get you all fired up, I though it would be helpful to the author of this thread. :o
