Driving around with no clear on the qrters, no top and no tailgate till the weekend...

Put in 5 straight days hardcore on the truck, need a couple days off...

haha, dude you have no idea... my knees make pro linebackers knees look good... But no, I was pounding it pretty hard.. 4 hr sleeps, working at night, etc.. it's cool tho, my rig is worth it... But I do wish I had the capabilty of when I was 25... oh well, gotta be a dinosaur some day, unfortunately it seems that day was last week...

Anyway, I should have some pretty cool pics up sunday....

This is expanded steel:

Not sure why they call it "expanded". But that's what we're talking about making grills out of. It's the same stuff you see on a lot of outdoor/patio furniture.

It's called expanded because it's like they just cut a pattern of slots in a sheet, then pulled each end and expanded it to get that.

Diggin' the floor replacement.... Finally finished reading you thread (took me 3 days ) I may just copy it when I re-do the floor in the Burb.... crazy as it sounds, the rear floor section is made from 3/4" plywood Don't know what the General was thinkin??? Its still way solid though after 35+ years... origional California truck

Oh and Ryoken seeing as how you have the skills and all to pull this off... I was thinking of a way to enlarge the stock wheel openings using patch panels and or your old fenders, But keeping them in the stockish looking shape but allowing for a larger tire w/ less lift.... kinda like pre=runner fiberglass jobbies, but w/o the flare.......

I can't afford to pay some one to do it, but I'm sure you could do the work.... I dunno think it would be way custom and fairly subtle to those that don't really know what they are looking at.

I had the same idea about sectioning some wheel wells and stretching them a bit... for the stock look.

Whatever he decides to do, I'm sure it'll impress!

Thanks Rob, the back was pretty boring, the front, trans tunnel, support, slider thing should be very cool... Think I've come up with a few pretty innovative approaches to that... Gonna be pretty labor intense tho.. I'll be doing that between Jan and Mar sometime...

And yup, I've brought the sectioning up before... And yes, if I keep my fenders steel, thats more than likely what I'll be doing... Not the whole lip, just the back 1/3rd or so... Tho I'm thinking long and hard about the stock replacement fenders available in fiberglass.. MUCH easier to mod/section...

Haven't done much sectioned panel work in recent years, but did a fair amount back in the days at the resto shop.. he!!, we made door skins, floors, etc... We used to do a fair amount of lead work too, been ages since I've done that..

Yeah one of these days I'd love to do that to my Burb say like 4" lift and 39's with no "trimming" And finish off what the factory didn't and add a 4th door.... I t looks easy enough all the jamb structure and everything is already in place... I think it would be awesome and make folks scratch their heads and make wierd grunting noises

oh while I got your attn... I picked up one of those Windstar fans, and need to install the sucker. You had mentioned that you were running it straight off the ignition on position... I am thinking of the same thing, but dunno if my electrical system is up to the challenge? Stock multi wire alt. and a new yellow top... any advise would be awesome.... and are you gonna put the schematic in here for the way you wired yours, or will be wiring them?

Yeah, my apologies to all for not updating my schematic.. I just have had no time....

Running 1 fan, the stock 64 amp puny alt holds up fine... running both, draws a little more than I like to see with that kinda output... But it works... Tho I've yet to have a circumstance where it needs both going.. haven't had the second one on since the first week or so that I installed it...

Pretty simple wiring, I just have the relay triggers being fired by my Contura switch, which is fed by an ign on feed... eventually, I'll get a therm switch going in the mix, but at this point, the system works fine as is...

Oh, and I do love the mod... VERY happy with how my shroud, etc worked out.. I LOVE having no mechanical....

eh, about 80%... still have to completely tie in the breaker system... Everything is on it except the motor, ECM stuff... It was planned as a winter project, but who knows...

At some point, I'll get detailed pics up of the driverside, no fuseblock, etc, etc....

very similar obviously.... But mine is Convoy Gold from the Imron fleet color chart....
