honestly... for the money people pay for Foose, Boyd, etc to build a car, I think I could build cooler stuff... :haha:

no sh*t... honestly, those guys don't impress me often.. for as "state of the art" and "hot" as their builds may be to the average public, I find them exceptionally cookie cutter and boring.... :(

give me 100 to 150 grand, like they get, and i'll build you the sickest ride your imagination can come up with... :deal:

If i had that kinda money i'd definately not use MY imagination. I'd be picking your brain for ideas :D

X2!

Im not very impressed with much of anything Foose or boyd build either. damn near every car they build is the same style as the one before it but with different colors. theres a few im sure that are really neat, I just dont remember them at all.

patience grasshoppa... :haha:

just holding off a bit to do a good update for you guys... :deal:

Looking forward to it! Your thread always motivates me to work on my crap, but then I get stuck reading throught it over and over. I still have a ways to go on mine, I am really hoping to start making some decent money soon and then I am going to town on that thing so I can take it on a trip to Alaska!

no pics today guys.... :o but a little bit of a build update....

been working on it, but nothing new and worthy of pics.. got the ds rocker in, and working on the floor... all the tube for the cage is cut at this point, need to revise my #'s some! :wink1::haha:

got some parts in, and the back cage is done, but I added a few pieces o' tube up in the cab..:crazy: I'll detail that later... :wink1: :deal:

As some may have read in my front clip thread, I'm gonna stay with a later front clip... :( but I'll make it cool! :wink1::pimp1:

oh,

I'd like to get in on this. I can set up a laptop as a test environment for duplicating some of what you're doing. I'm wanting to do the in-dash touch-screen on a Linux system for mine. I'll be eagerly following that part of the build.

Good choice on running Linux. I have been using ubuntu on my PC for 2 years now and will not go back to windows. If I can be of any help, please let me know.

I think it's the perfect OS for a car pc..... and i know nothing.... but i know it's tiny..... not like windows that checks to see if the clock is ticking like 7000 x's a minute or some crazy sh*t... :eek1:

and thanks, I'm not proud, I'll be in here hollering for help when it comes to that stuff... :o:bow:

well, ran out of mig wire... :doah::mad: thats 30 lbs i've run thru the new machine into this truck... :haha:

got my frame tie-ins.... and promptly bumped it down the priority list... :haha: they can be easily added later....

Got pictures of the front of you slider? On the side you havent painted yet? The area where the front fender mounts and where the door pilar comes down

Thanks

nope.. no fenders.. so the sliders where left uncapped and long in the front for the time being...

tho thats about to change, going to pick up a clip next weekend... then i can start on sectioning the lip and cut the slider to fit...

oh, wait, i do have these old shots from way back if it helps.. from the cab support install...

Thanks for finding those pics. What ya got planned for a fender mount? Or ya just gonna weld it to the tubing?

I'm definitely going for a bolt on.. and yup, gonna be a pain probably... :wink1:

I eyeballed it pretty good one night..... other than the obvious hack across the bottom and the sectioned lip, the inside structure needs a couple cuts, and a piece added to it...

this does however make a very nice tab to bolt straight down into the slider, from a flush position... i can do 1 or 2 bolts if i want... this is also one that I'll be capping the slider at the very end. I want access inside cuz I definitely wanna weld nuts inside the tube for the fender bolts...

I should start messing with this in a few weeks...

next is the 1" ledge for the removable panel... which funny enough, turns out to be exactly an 18" square... :haha:

then I've got a day of finish welding and grinding on the floor.... little bit to do on the cage, but i should have the cab ready for primer/seamsealer in a couple weeks hopefully...
