I'd need my glasses on to see what's going on up there....my eyes ain't what they used to be...I need stuff at an arms length to read it now.
Great layout Paul, and I gotta say I wasn't a fan of the expanded metal grille, but your making it look pretty good, as it comes together.

quite the glare on that new flash... :haha:

I had a feeling alot wheren't gonna dig the expanded, but at least it's built like a brick sh*thouse! :weld::grind::screwy:

holy yit, that LED is bright.... I just reminded myself of something.... :doah:

I'll have to get a tripod for these long shutter speed shots.. :doah:

should be very functional...

You might be able to increase your ISO which would allow the camera to take better pictures in darker conditions without a flash. More reading for the next time you're on the crapper... :haha:

Gonna put a mic mount in, or go big rig style with a little bungy cord??

Martin

this might have been asked before but... why did you choose a blazer?

yours skills are unbelievable, there should be a ryoken tech section. people would learn so much from fiber glass to painting, to metal work, wiring, and boats and ALOT MORE!!!

love the build cant wait to see it moving on its own :waytogo:

thank ya sir... :D

i had been itching to build another truck for awhile.. wanted to do a K5 as opposed to a pick-up cuz I want to be able to sleep in the back if need be when I take it camping/fishing... it'll tow my 1500 lb bass boat around on occasions..

just some part pic fodder... you saw the finished overhead, here's the other 3 pieces i shot final black on.. ready for assembly and install...

hopefully I'll get to overcoat the remaining pieces tonight...

another thing i'd really like to finish up this weekend is my hand throttle mock-up and winch controls... really stoked on the throttle control... like to get the dash bezel painted sunday...

onboard welder and i also think he is doing onboard air as well. cool idea i have one for mine also

yup, air and welder..... i've got the York already...

tho throttle control can certainly be done a couple ways, including thru megasquirt, which i will do at some point, this fell in my lap... so i may as well, have the initial physical setup, as well as eventual electric control.. redundancy is a good thing....

oh, and big props to James for hooking me up with some old school round light bezels... :D

ubernewb, are you reading this whole novel? your a brave man! :haha:

every single post.. yeah, that took a couple days. hahaha

i'll say this tho, this build is absolutely incredible. your ideas and fab skills are off the charts man. it's a good thing you live on the other side of the country, or i'd be spending all my time hanging out in your dungeon.

definitely taking ideas from this for my own rig tho!

I saw that "hand throttle" and thought to myself (for only a second) "that's not gonna work for ****". Then I remembered you have an auto, and are going to use it for on board air and what not. Those are nice pieces. Run them on power units for irrigation wells.

yeah, this piece when shown to me, sparked my interest.... i'd always seen bicycle shifters, brank handles, etc used, but these never dawned on me...

it's what all the travellifts, etc use.. right under my nose and didn't even know it... :doah: but when i saw the push button full motion option with the "turn for fine adjustment" aspect, i was sold...

the turn, fine tune aspect will be the most often used i'm thinking.... pretty fine movement, bet i'll be able to bump up rpm's 10, 20, 50 at a clip easy.. and a couple full turns should get it to 12, 1300 i'm guessing...

the other function i really like is, not only does the push button release for the sliding, pull, full range part, but it also instantly releases the fine tune part too... so ya wouldn't have to turn it back in...

i figured, "oh, fancy cable, bet this things worth $75, 80...." come home and check McMaster, they're like $38... :eek1:  thought that was a pretty reasonable price for it.. heck, regular cables for the twin stick, etc can run almost that much.... :doah: :haha:

here's a 30 sec Paint... throttle centered on right, between the front and rear winch controls.. power and in/out front on left, and same on the right for the rear...

should hopefully work out pretty well...
