87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

yeah, i like the price... i wont have the money for a couple weeks tho... maybe i'll give em a buzz and go take a peak next weekend.. give em a deposit if i like it.. it's a pretty long drive from here 2+ hrs...

actually it might not make a horrible towrig.. I'm guessing it's got a 350.. but it could be a BB.. i'd jump all over that... got a couple of these kicking around for it if need be..

Paul, the one in Newton is literally ten minutes from my house...

I could take a look at it if you want me to, but I'll only be here till tomorrow then I'm moving to RI for school

That's a great looking old truck. I'd buy it if it was out here! Then I could dump this POS dodge...

sorry for the confusion, thats not the rig in the ad, just a pic of a flatbedded dually K30 I found.. I'm pretty certain the ad one isn't that clean.. but I'll see. Swetty, thanks for the offer, but don't trouble yourself on your last day here... i'll talk to him this week...

i dont live too far away either.sounds like it has a few nice parts on it.fesh engine and tranny.but it is a plow truck, who knows how bad the body and frame are at this point.seems like a good price for it though either way.those plows are like 1000 bucks on their own.

This build is sick. It took me 3 days to read through the whole thing. Awesome custom work.

works gotta be winding down!

it was! :haha:

the truck is in mini hibernation right now.. trying to get towrig money up, been having a few health issues, blah, blah...

as soon as i'm feeling a bit better, not psycho at work, etc, I'll be down there..

but unfortunately, i doubt the rig will see any cash till mid fall... everything's going toward the tow rig till purchase.... I was eyeballin a mid 80's K30 CC dually with a Cummins/5spd and a flatbed for 5 g's.. but thats a bit out of my range at this point...

I thought the whole idea to this build was to make the blazer drivable and reliable to make it to and from the trail? Why dump a ton of cash on a tow rig, trailer, insurance, maintenance, and customization?

it's a potential towrig i should say, when I get a trailer, who knows.... i just want it to be tow capable... i want/need something in a pickup category, so why not go K30 and BB.. tho i was drooling over that Cummins.. instead of some piece of sh*t beater looking for decent mileage... it's super rare that i drive more than 10 miles a day... i figured if I'm gonna spend a couple grand on a car might as well make it 3 g's and get a reasonable truck.. if i happen to save more than that before i find something i like, it's nice to have that option....

the K5 will still be street legal, plans have not changed... when i have both on the road, i'll drive whichever i'm feeling that day.. and down the road if i can get a trailer, it'll be nice to have that capability, wheel around here, drive it.. roadtrip, maybe I'll throw 39.5's on and trailer it out so i can flog it without fear of losing my ride..

my apologies for not spending EVERY dime on my rig..

What a letdown...I mean really,what a disappointment.:D

I think that everyone can relate to not enough time, money,to much work. pain ect...

I can wait to see the next big thing you do to your rig.
And understand completely if it`s a slow process.

ok, I'm back from being displaced....

the crewcab was on craigslist a couple weeks ago... it was a baby blue, i think 85 irrc, didn't pay much attention to the exact yr being it was a Cummins conversion... full length dually with a steel flatbed and fifth wheel hitch on the deck... was at 7 g's, dropped to 5....

figured i'd shorten it up a couple feet and tube bed it... get it down to a 135ish WB...

but I'm still looking....still up in the air whether it'll be a reg cab or crew, i think it's gonna depend on what i come across that i like... I only have about 1800 right now anyway, need another month or so...
