87 K5 Build...Hmmm, whats that Ryoken up to? stay tuned...

yeah, it's a blazer tub and frame apparently... the bed stays in Cali, it's showing up here with just rails in the back... and the front bumper is a stock bumper now, which is fine... I actually prefer that at this point... I'm considering a winch in the bed, but have no intention of running one up front at this point...

iirc, it was originally a NV truck.... as soon as it arrives, hopefully somewhere around the 15 to 20 of april, it'll be balls to the wall for the next 6 months on it...

:deal:

bank on it..

I just feel so much more invigorated since the stent was put in... obviously the huge diet change and being back at work has something to do with it too.. Even with the bad back thing going on, I feel like I'm getting healthier and healthier every day....

in addition to walking and biking, I've started lifting again... not hardcore on any of it, just easing myself back into all of em.. tho I plan to bike much more when the weather gets even better...

kind of ironic how my health began to turn to chit when I retired from vert skating... :doah:

Looking forward to seeing you back at it Paul, are you going for a willard style bed or do you have something new and different in mind.

it has some aspect's of Willards to it, but draws from many of the flatbeds I found and a few idea's I have yet to see... it is what I hope will have a pretty original look to it...

I'm looking at $2500 in materials and the custom fuel tank for it, so it's far from a "budget" flatbed tho.. between that and the lift/tires, I'm hopeful the drivetrain can remain somewhat moneypit free for a while..

for those that didn't read in the other thread, the plan is to copy Kert's CC stance, tire/rim package...

Have you decided to start another thread for it, your already at 400 and some odd pages on this one.

I think your just padding it now.:haha:

just stoked.... :woot: :weld::hack::saweet:

I'll put it here.... this thread needs a million views.... ;)

How about you keep the K5 copper and now you do satin black on the CC? Or are you keeping some things secret?

and forgive my lack of knowledge what is a willard flatbed?

ORD's CC, Willard...

from my "flatbeds" thread.... http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=287918&highlight=flatbed

there are a few aspects of mine that are similar, yet some very distinctive differences.... it's one you guys will just have to wait and see...

as to color.... eh, my tentative at this point is to retain at least a somewhat similar red.. mainly due to ease, and the red interior..... I have taken a quick peak thru my chip books and found something with a bit more orange to it, a bit brighter that I may run.. it is VERY similar to the red/orange I'm runnin as an accent color on the K5 cage, seats, etc... so that would correlate a bit...

it will get some paint by the end of the summer.. once the bed is fabbed, I'll shoot the sheetmetal... no rust? pffffff, i can have it ready and shot in no time.... :haha:

so it's looking like it'll be red/orange sheetmetal and a black tube bed with alum panels...

Have you ever thought about trying to find a boat gas tank instead of having one built?

that would probably work well in an actual bed... but I'm looking for very specific dimensions and an odd shape due to the spare mounting I'm gonna do.. from under the window, down to the frame, with an angle back wall.. it will roughly be shaped like this.. keep in mind this is a smaller rig so the sizing is a bit off..

the fill and return will be up top... it will also have a sump feed at the bottom, drainplug, fully baffled, and I'll be running an external pump..... I haven't figured it out, but hopefully it'll be in the 50 to 60 gal range...

I'm hoping the guy hooks me up for about $500 for the past work I've sent him, and possible future work... I'll take pics of the guys shop, pretty incredible... he apparently just got a pretty big military contract for tanks based on the Coast Guards recommendation...

Been a while since an update and just wanted to check in and see how the body is holding up, hope all is going well.

Can't wait to see what you do next :woot:.

eh, she's backburnered at his point till the winter probably while I get my
CC in shape...

feeling good tho, thanks for asking!
