I'm definitely getting an expander wheel for the other side of the buffer with a bunch of 80 grits...

that things gonna be bada$$

Wonder how hard it would be to fab up a mounting plate in front of the belt to smooth out the edges on some 1/4".

I don't have one of those cooool 20"ers like you and Greg.

with your fab skills, easy peezy prolly... bit of this, angle here, hole there... ;)

got the buffer today.. be working on getting it mounted up tonight... glad I didn't get buffing wheels from Eastwood, as I think I found a better source... no huge rush for those or the expander wheel at this point... I figure I'll get all that stuff at once and it'll be about $200 for a bunch of buffs/compound and belts/sander...

Love that you can actually hear the wind buffeting the microphone when you set it to high speed!

......now........what about those drapes? :)

yeah, i played it back and thought the wind speaker thing was funny... things a beast... gonna order buffing stuff for it tues...

and new window treatments will be up sunday! :woot:   :haha:

so.... the paisley flowered window treatments where on backorder, so I had to opt for moving some stuff around.... really dig the new MOROSO and Doug's banners..

the last, and biggest, banner should be here this week.. :haha:

and after at least eleventy hundred hr's of sanding, I'll hopefully have the hood in primer tomorrow...

Edit- Nevermind, I went back and skimmed some older posts, and forgot the attention to detail on the small stuff. When you get your hood and tail gate done, I figure you're going to spend a lot of time doing a lot of small stuff before you do the drive train.

If you are reading this for the first time, I asked how much body work you have left.

you are supposed to be in the mid 60's in the middle of the week for a day or two...great time to shoot that hood :dunno:

yeah, the list is long, and expensive at this point....

bodyworkwise.. finish the hood, get it in black/copper.... i just exploded a gear in my longboard (the one i just saved!) so now I gotta finish it off by hand tonight... prime tomorrow..

ds fender.. in raw steel.. need to section the front lip still... the rear section/fab is all done, bit of filler, prime, paint..

ds qrter.. need to do/finish the wheel well section.. it is just barely started..

tailgate.. fix a couple dings.. zinc. prime paint..

once the truck is done done , I'll do a final x-blocking of the whole exterior, fix any minor issues and overcoat it..

and yeah.. i stole EVERYTHING... steering box, entire x-over, whole front suspension.. so I'm gonna be spending some coin...

my intention at this point is leaves up front and link the rear... but haven't thought out any details yet.... but it'll more than likely be next by the time I get into that after building my flatbed/kennel this summer.. plus the finances of it all...

oh, but the one thing I will be getting to believe it or not is the rear winch bumper/tire carrier... :woot:

it's gonna be the first tube work with the upcoming order... stoked to be doing some tube work again.. in the next couple months, than when the weather breaks, I'll start bending up the tubebed...

yeah, I gotta shrinkwrap a 60'er in the water..... :haha:

it's the only one I have left.. practically feb 1.... I'll be taking the damn thing off in a month anyway... :haha:

but I wont be getting paint on it for about 3 to 4 weeks... no coin for it.. I have clear and hardener, but I need a qrt of base, if not 2..

I'm more concerned with getting the underside done, and in satin black... I can do the copper when I paint the tailgate, fender, etc..

So exactly how long do I have to talk you into linking the front too!!!!!

When you are done I am gonna come see just to see this truck in person:D

and yeah, your right, there are soooooo many little things that need finishing touchs, there is always plenty of labor to do... I still need to build the kickpanel setup for under the glovebox for one...

but yeah, at this point, it's mostly lot's of smaller details and big money, all the major fab has been done except the back bumper.... and finish off the tool cabinet..

drivetrain is really just money too... for the trans and parts for the ton's.. still don't have 5:13's for em... that was next on my list when I got "interupted"...

ooops, it should have said fall in there...

yeah, I know Eric... I'm just a bit concerned about keeping it's street manners, even tho it's looking more and more like a trailer queen in light of recent Muttness.. and how hardcore the terrain it's gonna see, vs the extra performance of the front links...

I'm definitely not ruling it out, it was just my initiial reasoning... you've got probably 8 to 10 months to change my mind... :haha:

Well that won't be too hard then, you mine as well order 4 coilovers or coils or whatever you are going to get when you order em :D

Lemme just say though I think your truck deserves it. The workmanship you have put into it is spectacular. To put an old school leaf spring suspension under it just seems well just not right.

You need to find a buddy with a 4 door JK and go ride around with them and then go for a ride in Mutt. If you ran coil overs ( which will take a bit to tune em perfect) the ride will be light years better than the JK.

Properly setup if you aren't going to tow leaf springs have no advantage over a linked suspension. NONE ZERO ZIPPO NADDA

Howm I doing so far?

well, I can't argue with you.... :doah: :haha:

I'll have to start looking thru some of the link threads and get a feel for what I want do, materials, etc too..

I guess I was just trying to put myself in a "you've got enough poop on your plate as it is to get this truck running, don't add to it" mode... :haha:

I'll chime in with the simple observation..............you all ready have a leaf spring truck.................... How'd I do......change your mind ?????????:pimp:

I'm so encouragable... :haha:

fingers are bleeding, priming in the AM...

I will chime in get the thing running and driving first. Nothing more that you will do at this point will make coils easier so finish the truck.

Unless you haven't done the mounts and stuff then just disregard what I said.
