So I bought my 87 K5 froma buddy about year ago and still cleaning up some wiring (removed 20 lbs so far). I noticed on the head light switch there are 2 wires doing nothing!!! But my headlights work and dim weird but true. They the top 2 wires vertical at top look brown or brown and black, one has nothing been cut and other has a connector GM style on it like plugs into something. There booth vertical from green wire near dash. Can anyone help me out here? need more info just let me know. Thanks in advance guys!

Just guessing here not looking at a wiring diagram, does your "chime" function work if the key is not in the ignition and the headlights are switched on, do the dome lights work if the knob is rotated full left (think it's full left) and the doors are shut, and do the dash lights work?

No chime didn't know 87 did that actually! No dome light see other post please. Dash lights do dim as designed. Hopefully will be able to get this fixed sooner then later with some help.

So one of those is probably the chime function. Now that I think about it, another is possibly light for radio.
