hey just did fixed some wiring on the fuel pump.. shut it down still goes any idea?

I`ve seen the Alt do this, on another 87.

Yeah I think so, it was about 12yrs ago, don`t remember all the details. Try disconnecting it and see what happens.

Disconnecting the alternator while it is being used is a good way to blow the diodes.

I think you could disconnect the alt with the truck off, secure wiring so it doesn`t short, then start truck. Then try to shut truck off, and see if it stops running.
