I have a 87 K5 with a 305 V8...Last year I took drove it about 2.5 hours to Pennsylvania to go "off roading"...Which for me was just to get a little mud on her...nothing too extreme...
On the way home my truck started to loose power which happen over about a mile's worth of driving...Eventually the truck lost total power and shut off...I did not notice any loss in oil pressure and there were no noises coming from the engine bay. I had the truck towed home.
My friend and I checked the alternator and the starter...Both were ok.
Any idea's what may have happened?
When I try to start the truck all I get is a clunk...nothing else. Battery has a full charge as well.
I did take the oil pan off last night and noticed a few pieces of metal on the screen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am dying to take her out for a ride.
