My wipers work fine on high and low but the intermittent does not work, is there something simple that controls this or is it more complicated like a circuit board or maybe magic...

Sounds like the wiper module.I found the last one I bought to fix a friends on e-bay for 20.00

Mine does the same thing and the previous owner tried fixing it by replacing the module and it did not fix it. I'm too cool to use intermittent wipers on a K5 anyhow:D

You mean these trucks have more than hi/low for a wiper speed? Lol Every one I've seen has has had standard wipers, or the intermittent ones didn't work.

Under the column there is a little black box with heat sink fins these cause it. You can unplug both ends and hook together to test motor. If it works on low and high it is not motor. Here is best pic I can give you.

Just unplug and have regular as this is another add in feature. Like power windows and locks that just are added to existing harness and truck set up.

your looking for a car to steal to go get another car. You look in this easy Chevy and see this. Your options:
1. Cut chain
2. Cut wheel twice
3. Remove seat
4 go to another vehicle you can just pop column and go.

Seems to work fine as it is also military way to secure it too!

The nut is double nuted and tacked to threads.

It is so simple I can't believe this is the first time I have seen it:D

Could do the same thing with one of the seat belt bolts too. Make it really tough to get to and put the chain on one of the inner seat bolts. :)

Thanks all for the input...Im going to go try taking the black box out of the system. Im also gonna install the chain deally and well, its a great idea to convince a would be thief to move on to the next target.
