87 k5 radio help???

Hey guys,
Have an 87 k5 tbi 350 and the other day the headunit stopped working. Pulled it out and swapped for one that I know works and I'm not getting any power to the radio. Checked all the fuses and they are all good. Is there any relays or hidden fuses I need to check? The previous owner has a mess of wiring and I have no idea where to begin. Electrical work is not my gig. Any help is greatly appreciated.

maybe check with a test light to see if you have 12 volts in the wire

If someone can tell you the color wire that is supposed to provide 12V to the radio, you should be able to trace that from the fuse panel to wherever it's cut/spliced/screwed up.

This of course, is assuming that you've verified there is NOT 12V on the power wire to your head unit, and it's not a ground issue.
