I am swaping axles on my blazer and was wondering the best way to lift the rear. I want to pull a trailer with 4 wheelers and camping gear. I will also wheel the crap out of it. Will a shackle flip mess up its towing capabilities?

I am going to ask you to do a search on this topic. This dead horse has been beaten to death so many times that it hurts to think about it. There is already a lot of info on this. Try a search and grab a cup of coffee and read for a few hours.:D

Shackle flip is a good way to lift your truck , flexes well , and you don't have a block to spit out .

As for towing , its generally considered a no-no for anything really heavy .

Personally , I have towed a 78 K5 body tub on a 2000 lb trailer and it didn't feel funny at all , and loads of trash that weighed as much as a couple ATV's at times .

I wouldn't want to tow something as heavy as another truck however , thats what tow rigs are for .

How much weight do you estimate your gonna tow ?

Thanks for the responses. I have contacted ORD and they said I should have no problems. So I am gonna go with the shackle flip since I only need to pull about 4000 pounds including the trailer.
