87 K5 tailgate questions.

My 87 has a different tailgate and it is electric which has never been hooked up. I touched all the wires to a battery and nothing happens not a sound. Also no key and I can pull the door open, it won't stay shut plus I can see daylight around the sides. Is this maybe the wrong tailgate and what years will fit?

I have never run this on the road and if it doesn't sell in the next week or so I want to lic it and drive it. Do you guys think I am asking too much for this: http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/car/583963762.html

If its rust free, runs and drives good. The interior looks nice. I would say thats a good asking price, from what i see in the pics.

You have to ground the gate and then put power to the wire that controls the function you need to run
