3/4 ton status
PRICE LOWERED TO $5500 OBO
It's been fun, but it's time to sell the old girl and find something else.
I blew out and crushed a disk in my back (really bad) and can no longer play the way I did before. I have put this decision off for almost 2 years waiting for my back to heal up, but every time I feel it's almost fully healed I hurt it again.
Because of that the truck has just been sitting, and I'm tired of looking at it and getting mad that I can't do anything with it.
I can't really even work on most of it, hence the partially unfinished sections listed below.
I tried to remember everything below but I am sure I forgot something.
If I think of something I will add it here.
1987 Chevy 4x4 long bed 1 ton, 42” TSL's HMMWV rims
Roughly 6” of lift with fenders cut to clear the 42's. The tires have about 5-600 miles on them.
SM465 transmission, NP208 Transfer Case
It started life out as a ½ ton but I put in 1 ton axles (Dana 60 and 14FF)
Both axles geared 4.56:1 with detroit lockers
14FF –
Disk brakes with SKY Offroad brackets, rotors and calipers from a mid 70's model chevy 4x4 ¾ ton front axle so parts are cheap and readily available.
Wilwood adjustable proportioning valve installed in line to rear brakes.
Offroad Design 14FF u-bolt flip kit
Offroad Design 2.5” shackle flip
DIY4x razorback differential cover
Shaved pumpkin for clearance
Offroad Designs greasable poly bushings
New spring perches were welded on to correct pinion angle
DIY4x wraptor (not installed)
DIY4x 14FF Backbone (not installed)
DIY4x pinion guard (not installed)
DIY4x shock inboarding kit
Dana 60 –
Warn premium hubs
NorthWest Fab crossover steering with ARP studs
Sky 1.25” heavy duty tie rod
PSC 1.75” hydraulic ram for steering with power steering cooler
Field serviceable JIC hydraulic fittings
Spicer 1480 axle u-joints
Offroad Design bolt in steering frame brace
Offroad Designs greasable poly bushings
Ford Super Duty shock towers (not installed)
relocated shackles for better ride and flex
Miscellaneous:
Windstar Electric fans
Uniden PC78 CB radio with weather band and 102” SS whip. Installed SWR meter sits in the glovebox.
48” High Lift jack
Relocated rear hitch with 10 ton shackle for vehicle recovery
AGM battery relocated to behind passenger seat with PERCO disconnect and 2/0 wiring and remote starter solenoid
Complete Onboard air system, York 210, mounting bracket from a chevy, coalescing filter, pressure switch, check/dump valve and air tank (I removed the york to reenforce the mount and never reinstalled)
2” wheel spacers
Bucket seats with center console
The spare tire is a brand new 39'5” IROK mounted to a HMMWV wheel, The o-ring in this wheel needs replacement
Tires balanced with 2000 .20G airsoft bb's
Eclipse CD radio with alpine speakers
What needs attention:
Needs a tuneup from sitting for the last few years. It runs rich.
The last owner cut a hole in the roof for a sunroof, then riveted a piece of sheet metal of it.
There is typical rust at the rear lower cab corners
Dents here and there from offroading
Passenger side mirror is cracked
Gas tank is sitting in the bed and needs to be permanently mounted. I was planning on mounting it inside the bed mounted toolbox but never got around to it.
York onboard air systems needs to be reinstalled
Front passenger tire leaks air from the HMMWV o-ring, I will include 5 new spares
The front bumper has been removed and a temporary hitch installed so I could move a boat. Front bumper, mounting brackets, and original tow hooks are included.
The electric fans are installed but not wired, I have the relays and harness it just needs to be hooked up.
I also have a large collection of miscellaneous and spare parts that are included.
Look at http://www.brokentrucks.com/ in the Chevy image gallery for some photos of the truck throughout the years I have owned it.
