OK Well I went outside (with an hour of light left...) to start tackling removing my 3in body lift. I have no carpetting or mat in the cab but I keep looking and I dont see any place for the top of the body mount...

Where the hell do the 4 cab mount bolt heads come in?

Are the bolts threaded to the body?

Ive heard of needing to put holes in the floor in the correct place for the body lift installation but the truck already came with a 3in blift and theres no wholes at all...

Little help... its almost dark anyway and I need to go get pblaster :D

Mine just bolted to the brace on the floor of the cab IIRC so there's no way to see the nut.

Is the nut built into the brace then? I keep reading about guys having to cut access holes to grab the nut. How about the front cab mounts? Same access hole crap?

Well they are built into the brace. have you taken the old bolts out w/o problems?? The bolts should come right out of the brace and the new bolts go right back in their place. I think the only reason you'd need to cut access holes to get to the nuts would be if the bolt were to just spin meaning the nut was spinning in the brace. that COULD happen cause they get pretty rusty in there. There should be a little hole right next to where the bolt goes into the brace. I just sprayed a bunch of PB Blaster (or w/e lube you wanna use) in the hole and let it sit for a few hours

If any of that's confusing sorry

Yup. Use plenty of penetrating lubricant. Maybe a couple of times a few hours aparts would be good. Let it sit overnight and pray when you turn that bolt. If the captured nuts spin in the body... you gotta cut.

Ok well the body lift went in fairly recently so I am guessing it went alright for the install. I'm going to wait a few more days and spray it down with pb blaster again.

Yah well i've seen some rigs come outta NJ and OMG they were kindly rusty

Good luck. i did mine on my 85 blazer and thought they would never come out...
