I am putting a np203 behind a 700r4, unfortunately I do not have the original tcase to determine if it is supposed to have a vss. The engine is a tbi 350. If it requires a vss hooked to tcase anyone have an idea how i can accomplish this installation with out the factory tcase?

Not too sure about your model but I have a 241 behind my 700r4 and the vehicle speed sensor runs off my spedometer in the dashboard with some sort of sensor mounted there.

Your VSS is run off of a reflector and light on the back of the speedometer inside the dash. Hooking up your speedo gears is just like any other vehicle with a drive gear a driven gear and a speedo cable to the back of the Speedo.

I want to say that 1989 is when they went to a reluctor ring and electronic speedo with a drac to provide a vss signal to the ECM.

Na you would never have to buy a new Tcase. Jagsthatrun sells a signal generator that runs off of the standard speedo gear in the transmission but sends the electronic signal to feed the ecm and electronic speedo.
