'87 Suburban Build "munepit" I'm Back! Missed all you guys!

The 2 springs I added are arched. I can't put those under the overload because the are arched springs.

To multi-quote just left click on the box between quote and quick reply.
It will turn orange, click on as many as you like, then go back and hit Quote on the first one and reply away.

I think that is right.:D

Just take those two out and ad your zero rate under the over load.

Or ditch the two short ones if you want it to sit lower. And don`t use the zero rate at all.:dunno:

Thanks! Learn something new everyday! And forget something!

I added those 2 springs so it wouldn't be so soft like people say they are. I will be driving this on the freeway at 70mph. Im sure that's what is giving me the extra lift too. Right now, its at about 6 to 7 inch lift springs.

I say run it a while and see if your happy with it. Chances are if you dont add bump stops and you go jumping it and stuff like you have, you will be glad you have the pack you do.

OK, first I will disagree with anyone that said move the overload from where it is, and definitely do NOT remove the rivet, it actually make it work perfectly, If I see it right you have a little gap between the rivet and the overload so you get a slightly smoother ride until it gets rough or you load your truck more and then it will touch.
It's how an overload is supposed to work, only when it's overloaded.
Now since the rivet is a bit in, you could shorten the overload a bit so you have less of a chance for it to snag on something, just leave an inch from the rivet so it will still work the way it does now.
I think you got a good setup now don't mess with it.:waytogo:

Thanks Iceman and you other guys for the help.:waytogo: I ordered some front 12" MX6s today and some limit straps. Im going to limit the travel right now at 11" I was at my local 4x shop messing around on some huge tractor tires. The Burb was wadded up pretty good. I don't see myself needing more travel than I have right now.

Next: Rear 56s.

I have the shackle flip and 2 inch blocks if I need those. All I need are the springs and u bolts. I am going to try and get this done quick. I just hope I can find 56s a whole lot easier than the 52s. Time to o do some quick research on what 56s I need.

I'm kinda new to the proper spring flex and arch thing. But is this major bend at the tip of the main leaf OK?:dunno: Looks weird to me

Edit: you may have to go back to the original image to see it closer

Don't scare me like that. Just kidding. I had to run outside and check the spring. The top leaf at the eye bends down as it wraps and makes the eye. The second spring is almost the same length as the top one. It's straight all the way from eye to eye. That's another reason to limit the travel at 11". Thanks for having a sharp eye!!!!!!

Here is a pic while taking measurements for limit straps, shocks and driveline.

Holly sheet that's rad. Sweet picture. Glad your making progress, I'm stuck for now.

Your front end is pretty much exactly how I did mine

Thanks guys. I sure wish id moved the axle forward a long time ago. It wont touch anymore with 38s. But im going bigger, not too much but some. When the shackle flip is done, the rear will flex better also.

Thanks again for the compiments!

I could be wrong but as far as what 56's you need, i think the ones you have in the rear now ARE the 56's you need. Pretty sure they started in like 85 or something.

That has to be the coolest burb in CA.

Does your tire look like it will rub the inner front of the wheel well? Mine rubs on compression.

Well crap. Mine are shaped like a W. Mine are shot! I am going outside to measure. Thanks

Wow, that's a he'll of a complament! Thanks man!

No rubbing at all. My fenders would have been smashed for sure before the 52 swap. Although, I need to adjust my fenders. I had to get out the back doors on the tire. That was fun! My front doors would open at all.

For real? Crazy! I guess its 89-91? That trips me out. I would have bet $50 that 56's started in 85.

Mine is half ton. Maybe on the 3/4 and up. No clue. I need some though.

Couple more pics.
