'87 Suburban Build "munepit" I'm Back! Missed all you guys!

The bumper center with the B-52 kit was right around $345.00. Shipping was about $50.00. Powder coating was $90.00 And the 12K winch was $500.00.

I hope that was what you were wondering about.

I don't think so. I am going to do it slowly. I did 3 rivets yesterday and I will do a few today. I dont get much time, as I have a crap load of projects to do(House). Its hard to get more than 30 minutes at a time right now. Its going to be a lot of work getting this on by myself. I will get it done soon though. By this weekend I will have it on!

Dood,
Cherish the times with your little girl. My youngest child is my daughter, she just turned 6. I catch myself sometimes wondering where the time went? Hell, my oldest son is 15 now! I just can't believe the time went by so quickly.
Take lots of pictures, luckily my wife does.

Sorry, Hijack off.

I started grinding rivets. I got a bunch done. I have only a couple left. I don't know if Im doing it the correct way, But I hope this works.

I am concerned about this frame crossmember. Having no winching points on the front, We had to use this and now it is bent. I am hoping that when I get the last few rivets off, The frame doesn't move too much.
Its bent pretty bad. This is from directly under looking up.

That rust is nothing, you are lucky. I would replace the body mounts though. And I woudl eb concerned about the frame too. I had to use a sledge hammer and a bottle jack to bend mine back because the PO had an accident with it or something.

That bumper is just what I need!!!

It's PERFECT for my 2x4 conversion...thanks for posting!

Your daughter is beautiful! Take lots of pics, she'll be grown before you know it....

Thanks bud!! I try and take as many pics and vids as I can.

As for the bumper, Get it!!!!! It is sweet!!!

I know you were talking about waterproofing your winch. I just saw in this months 4 wheel parts mag that smitty is making waterproof winches. I think only in 8 & 10k tho. Don't know if a return or sell your old one to buy a new one is worth it. I think the grease in the thread you linked would be good on your big winch

I know this is dumb for me to do, But when I get off work, shoes come off and flip flops go on. I dont think I have ever worked on the burb in shoes. After all the grinding of the rivets, I only burnt my arm from sparks.

I think I need to trim the bumper a little. The lever to engage the spool is hitting a little.
