'87 Suburban Build "munepit" I'm Back! Missed all you guys!

The bumper is on. Tom (bradshawtech) came over and we finished it. Looks badass. Pics will be up in the morning. Thanks Tom:bow::waytogo:

You keep doing the hard part(spending the money) and I will be there to help with the installation.

Had fun today and I look forward to the wiring and testing of the new winch.

get a rivet gun, like we use on aircraft.

Air hammers hit fast, but relatively lightly.
Rivet guns hit slower, but much harder...

linky get a 4x or stronger. :waytogo:

Funny. I have to do it at work where I can upload pics. No computer at home. Thankfully I have a 2" body lift. There would have to been a lot of cutting if not. its a tight fit. Still have a lot of work to do. Wiring up the winch and dual battery kit from painless.

Well, Here are some pics of the bumper!!!

Love it!

That thing is SWEET!
Do you plan to add more protection on the sides?

- Whats leaking under there? It looks like burnt tranny fluid.

sweet!

That first pic, the 2 upper winch bolts look like eyes, and the fairlead looks like a maw...:eek1:

I had about 20 minutes to play with the rig today. Ok, this is my first winch, so, please tell me if this is stupid/dumb idea. I mounted the remote plug between the headlights. The control box will be mounted as high and as close to.the firewall is possible in case of water.

Anyways, here is what I did. What do you think. It is on the driver side for visibility when someone is using the remote and I'm in the drivers seat. I can get a new headlight bezel for $5.00 if this is a bad idea.

It looks good there:waytogo: It almost looks like a bowtie symbol

Looks great. Only concern i'd have would be pushing the connection together and pulling it apart and whether or not the plastic bezel can take the abuse.

I'd run it.

KEEP IT!! That looks sick!! I really like the bumper, and well the truck in general!!!!

Thanks guys!! I love my rig. I don't wheel it as much as I would like, but I'm trying to make it so when I get the time, I can beat the cap out of it. Well, every time I do take it out, I do beat the cap out of it. It is my way of getting out of the house and outside. I can't stand watching real housewives with the wife.

Kert, you are the enabler, that's for sure.

Ok, on to the control box. Do I need it? It's just a cover for the sylinoid. Damm I can't spell and I have a good buzz going. Sorry. I removed the remote control and all is left is that.

Can I mount this up high on the firewall or fender without the cover? Should I keep it in the box it came with?

Here Is the control box.

The wires are only like a foot long, so I will get some new ones.

Sorry for The crappy pics. Left my camera at work.

Thanks.

I thought about that. I can get these pretty easy and it only took ten min. to do. I will run it this way until I find a better place for the plug. It just seemed to fit there. I don't know where anybody else puts there's, because I'm a noob with witches. I also have an in cab control switch and I don't plan on useing this often, except to pull out jeeps. Just kidding, I will need this to get me off jeeps!!
