'87 Suburban Build "munepit" I'm Back! Missed all you guys!

Dang, This is starting to irratate me. Eric, When is KOH? If I add the overload spring, I will be at the same height as before. I am starting to think about installing my 6" EZ ride spring. But first I will get it back on the wheels and check things out. I will then try and move it back a hole. I dont want to do this because I will probably be hitting the firewall.

I just want to thank all of you for helping me out here. Thanks again!!:waytogo::bow:

The right way to set all of this is to setup the front eye of the spring so your axle is where you want it and then move the rear shackle mount to get the shackle angle you want.

Sitting on the wheels. Sombich is just as high, if not a tad bit higher. This isn't gonna work. I wanted to lower it. I think I just need a different 52" spring pack. The shackle moved a bit, but not much.

Looks like your flat spots came back. How bout an overload and a shorter shackle to get your ride height down...

And I don't think the shackle angle is too bad with all the flex you will have, but what do I know?

So this morning im going to relocate the rear hanger and then try and find some 52s. Damm I hate rivets.

I want the diy4x one. Is that the one you are talking about. I plan on buying it on Monday. I just got back from the junk yard looking for springs. There are a.bunch of different ones. 5 leaves, 6 leaves. Thin and thick springs. What is a good yr to get? Thanks.

Air hammer works wonders on rivets, sharp chisel bit to cut em off, pointy bit to pop em out.

Ya, I have those and tried. No luck. They will not come out. Diy4x order being placed on Monday. Thanks though.

No relation to the rig, but I bought a bounce house for my daughter. They sent me one that is one size bigger. Its 9x12. Its huge for inside.

As for springs, I'd look for newest/best condition. Plus ones that came out of blazers are typically less abused. People overload their pickups all the time. That's my. 02

Thanks, that is a good idea. I hit up a junkyard today. Here is a blazer, but it only had 5 leaf pack.

And red interior. Check out this seat. Never seen this pattern before.

Wonder if them coil over shocks are any better or worse than an add a leaf?

Anyways, are you hoping for more that 5 leaves in the pack? Any luck on CL? Might be cool to find a guy parting a rig that is still complete and you can see how the springs set still installed on the rig before you buy...

I just want stock 52s. I thought there were 6 springs in the pack. Is 5 the norm? If so, I might just grab those then. I saw a bunch of trucks with 5 springs in the pack. I somehow thought I was supposed to look for ones with 6 springs in the pack. Thanks for your help!

Just ordered the shackle hanger from Kert. Hope I get it by the weekend!
Now I need to find some springs!

I ran those shocks on a 2wd suburban and 2wd truck and liked them, very firm ride

So, Those springs on that blazer are the ones I want? If so, I will get them this week.

Thanks!:waytogo:

Jeff, you come down and remove my 6 leaf plus overload 52's that came off a 3/4 truck, you can have them for free. :) Nothing wrong with them.
