'87 Suburban Build "munepit" I'm Back! Missed all you guys!

Ah hell. Wheel this sucker. I have a car crush on Saturday and a run on Sunday somewhere, I forget.

I picked up a passenger door and rear big window at pick your part last weekend. Got the door on and painted red today. Got the rear window, big window, frame straightened today. It goes in tomorrow. The drivers window is also going in tomorrow. Buddy Tom came over the other day and we fixed the windshield frame. I t was tweaked like 4". Got the windshield back in. It cracked though. It was glued in. Need a new one, but its good for now.

I must say, for flopping and rolling within 2 weeks, The Burb looks good! It sure doesn't look like it was rolled.

Pics tomorrow.

I don't think this will be around long enough to get smogged again. What cheap mods can I do to this. I am cutting off the cat this week. It just got smogged, So 2 yrs from now, This will be too trashed to go through smog again.

What about the smog pump? Do I need that?

Do you really have the heart to destroy something you've owned that long?

Martin

It does hurt. But I'm having too much fun and I've had this forever! What's weird is, since the first flop, I though, damm, it's done. Then the big roll over, I knew it was over. But now, it's almost back lookin like it was a month ago. I know it's too big for all the trails I need to be on in these parts.

I have a million memories in this, but I need to beat it to crap and move on.

I still love this a lot. Just under my daughter and my wife. So, it's the third thing I love the most. But still. It's too big.

I do think I can't roll it again and be safe though. The roll weakened it. I'm going to duck next time I roll it.

Have you thought about not ruining this truck and getting like a 4runner or cherokee to wheel with and returning this one to DD type service?

It's to late. Plus the wife would be so pissed if I got another rig. I will have to destroy this one and then work on the next rig.

Why do i keep reading your thread jeff? Its so depressing but fun at the same time. Its like :haha: then :eek1: then :haha: then :doah:

Got the door on and spray painted. It is hard to match it perfect. This is close enough.

You don.t need the smog pump.

I would gut the interior then you don't have to run windows, but if you are still driving it on the street they help.

I know its yours to with as you wish, but seeing each new dent on such previously clean rust free sheetmetal hurts me.

All these Cali guys hurt my heart. I dent sheet metal all the time but it is patched together rust junk that most would haul to iron.

Can we start a petition to save the steel? It hurts me to see this especially now that I want a lifted burb

Yeah you can reference every thread where someone is complaining about gun laws or smog laws out here and all the goobers jump in about who would want to live out here... Just remember we crush more clean steel than most states have in em.
Muwahaha.

Wow! You did some damage...crazy comparison from a picture I saw when it was near new with weld wheels on it!

I know! Huge difference.

These blazers, trucks, and Burbs are dime a dozen here. There is about 10-15 at pick your part right now with zero rust. And almost no body damage. I'm not hurt about it because there are so many.

Sorry guys. It only going to get worse!!

Did he use the crane on his service truck and just scare the window frame straight?
Thing was a beast.

Ha! No, he let me use his Porta Power. That is a sweet tool. Can't believe I got it straight enough for the window to fit in. The roof is crushed a little and was hard to get the window in, But it went it!
