Hi all;
I might be looking at a 87 suburban soon. It has a 6.5 diesel with a banks turbo. The guy says the intake needs to be hooked up, as well as an oil line to the turbo. It also needs both batteries. He says it runs pretty good; and he wants 1500.00 for it. I have only seen pictures so far, but it looks o.k.
Did the 87's come with the 6.5 or is this a swap?
It is a 4x4 with a/c third seat, etc.
What sould I look out for on this thing? I know what to look for on a gas powered rig, but not on the diesels. Any help would be appreciated.

The 6.5 was not out yet in '87, so this is a swap. I'd definitely have a good hard look at it before buying...

Yea;
thats what I thought too. If it ran fine, why would the oil line need to be hooked up? and why are both batteries out of it? and why is the intake off of it? hmmm......

Maybe it ran fine in the vehical that he took the motor out of but forgot how to put everything back together right.

Just think this..if he fired it up with the turbo on the exhaust and didn't have the oil line hooked up, that turbo could be toast now. Get some more info on that oil line...
