i have an 87 tbi k5 blazer and it died the other day and now it wont run. it still cranks over and will run for a few seconds if you pour some gas down the throtle body. i have checked both the filter and the pump and they both work fine. all the fuel line are also clear.

anyone have any ideas whats wrong?

Check to make sure you have spark (even though you said it will run for a few seconds with gas poured down the throttle body) if you do have spark then it is obviously fuel related and if the pump is working and the filter and lines are clear then i would suspect a bad fuel pressure regulator. At this point you will need some special tools to check fuel pressure.

my 89 cut out on me a few time , first it was while driving and did it twice , pulle dover and waited and it restarted again .. the third time it went out completely. I was thinking it was fuel related. It turned out to be the ignition module. It sends a signal needed to the ecu. If that signal isnt right , then it wont fire. May not be your problem , but replacing it fixed mine.

the problem is definatly with fuel delivery
i have power going to the injectors but still no fuel comming out of them
im borrowing a fuel pressure tester and a stethoscope from a mechanic friend later today.
im also gonna check the resistance on the injectors
the only other thing i can think of is if the pressure switch or diaphram in the throttle body assembly went bad

any other ideas?
thanks for the help so far

The ignition module sends a signal to the ECM to command the injectors to fire, if the module goes bad and the ECM doesn't get the signal then the injectors won't fire.

Injectors are GROUNDED by the ECM, therefore them having power tells you little other than the fact that the fuse is good. You need to see if they are being grounded (firing) to know if the ECM is getting the spark signal from the module.
