Hey, this summer I tried removing the top off of my 87 Blazer. Pulled bolts from sides and along top (front), also found 2 nuts under the lip in the rear and pulled those. The damn thing wouldn't budge. I pushed as hard as I could up and nothing but truck movement. Had the whole rig bouncing around. What is going on? Anyone have any idea?

Could be stuck, if the rubber is old.

Still sounds like you're missing some bolts, though... you said found the ones in the back ... though I swear there are some Torx bolts or something in the back as well.

Just make sure you got ALL the bolts and the dome light connector then get in there, fold up the rear seat (makes it easier) And push up with your back as hard as you can until it starts to break free.

Make sure you get all the bolts undone, then stand in the back cargo area and standup. With your back against the top it will pop off.

Forklift.... I dont know but the rubber gasket was stuck on mine but did the method that everone is decribing and came right off.

Some WD-40 around the edges may help to soften the seal up. If it's stuck that bad, you might want to find some new weather sealing for it so it doesn't leak.

I took the top off my 1987 for the first time in its history and it was hard and HEAVY!All the bolts except the two at rear under rail can be seen from the back area. Be sure to remove the cover plate behind driver side and unplug dome light connector.

If it has slider windows open them and get two people to push up there and one in rear window area. We did that and got the thing lose. The prior owner of yours may of put silicone on the rubber to keep leaks out if they did $$$$ order new seals.

*There are no Torx bolts on a factory 1987 top!

there are 4 bolts in the rear. 2 are attached to the guide pins and 2 to the top. I had to break it free with the pty bar. Did mine 3 weeks ago.

So you are saying you had to un bolt the guide pins?

Shouldn't have to unbolt the guide pins. I didn't.

I did the back - stand up method and it worked.

Maybe try the front & then the back. If it's still bolted down somewhere you should be able to tell.

in the owners manual it tells you an order to go by for the bolts, but i never did it to get resealed properly. i just did the header bolts first to get it snug then the bed bolts. then tighten everything down
