Anybody know if the rear bumper brackets will bolt onto my 82c10 frame? Also does the trailer hitch bolt right up?

Found a deal on a bumper and hitch, curious if my 82 has the holes in the frame for it.

If it's worth anything to you, I found out that you cannot put a receiver under the rear bumper of an 86 K5, the bumper is in the way.

This is a factory hitch with the bumper on the k5. I want to put them on my 82c10 frame.

Mine had one when I got it, I yanked it off.

To answer your question, the rear bumper will fit. You can use the outer K5/suburban brackets but you will have to buy truck inner brackets, LMC truck has them. The rear hitch I am not sure. Here is mine with the blazer style bumper with truck brackets.

Thank you, any idea why the inners wont?

Frame ends totally different on the K5's and trucks. Hitch will not work because the rear bolt pads of the K5 frame/mount is angled downward (there are four bolt pads on the hitch), the truck frame/mounts are both flat.

With too much work you could probably make the K5 hitch fit. Maybe. No idea if the bolt spacing is different.

Perfect, thanks I'll pass on the hitch then and just go for the bumper.

yep my 2wd c-10 build got a burban rear bumper and had to order the inner brackets . otherwise direct bolt on .

and as said frame rail end shape on blazer/burban different than truck so this is why hitch wont work with out major mods .

m c-10 I built my own hitch to hide behind the plate location and installed a full size gm car gas door / plate flipper . even hides the 7round/4flat trailer plug behind plate . link below 2 wheel burn post 234 starts trailer hitch build. then post 495 I finish it out. only regret is the section were the receiver slides in and gets pined is to far from the bumper . if was roll pan be perfect . I will need to make/modify a receiver with a longer tube . but I wont be pulling crazy weight so no big deal .

For my truck I actually prefer the hitch below the bumper, for when coming off things.

How would I get a hitch sense the trucks didn't get these bumpers? Any ideas?

These bumpers really don't hang any higher or lower than the OEM step bumper, with that said Curt, Valley and Drawtite all still make hitches for the 73-87 trucks, the receiver tube will be just below the license plate box

That is perfect thank you for your information glad I'm not the only one doing this.

yes they did get these bumpers . . . . how do you think there is brackets to bolt them on ? ? :deal: just most trucks got reg old step bumpers is all.

My '82 GMC has the parking lamps in the front bumper--I think its a one year only deal,or maybe a few years around then had that setup..ones with no bumper holes for the parking lamps had the lamps under the headlamps in the bezel..

81-82 if I recall park/turn in bumper.

and if single headlight its under them . if multi headlight they clip to the grill and sit on the backside in front of the rad . you don't see them till turned on .

my truck came with the single light so I got the turn signal bumper but sense then I converted to a 91 grille so I'm going to use the bumper to hide some led lights.
