'88 1500 rear disc?

my buddy saw my rear disc and was a little and so he asked me if theres a company that makes its for a 88 1500 pick up, i told him i didnt know, does anyone else know?

Yup; they're called General Motors

Donno about that old, actually, but I know some of the newer trucks are rear disc, even on 10-bolts.

Yep, 10 bolt rear disks for the 8.5", stock, should be very easy to find. You see them quite often.

The newer Astro's (2005 or so) have 13" rear disks on 6 lug wheels. I'd suspect 16" wheels would be the smallest that could clear that setup though.

damn, i guess you learn something new everyday, i didnt know they ever put disc in the rear until 98ish or something. thanks a lot guys, ill let him know!

Friend has a newer 07 silverado crewcab 1500 with drums. Guy at the dealership told him they are all going back to rear drum brakes because the hold up better. Any truth to this or was he BSing him?

The bigger trucks seem to be going back to drums. Is a crewcab 1500 8-lug, by chance? The whole 1500-HD-2500-HD thing throws me any more.

6 lug 1/2 ton. I told him the W/T models had drum but ???? who knows?

As of '05 rear disk was an option. Newer is probably different, but it does seem they are going "backwards" on the rear disk issue.
