I posted on this a while back. the motor is out, but he never got the puter or the wireing for it. still wants 600 for it. i was thinking now this is to much. what do you guys think? plmk thx

Well, you said it's missing the comp, so I'm guesing it's F.I.
In that case I would think it depends on how much of the F.I. is with it.
If nothing else you could always pop on a new intake and 4bbl carb.
I'd offer $500. $600 sounds a touch too high.

Depending on what you are putting it in, why not put a carb on it and forget about the computer.
$600 for a running 454?? Up here that will sell in a heartbeat. I bought one that was in my 78 Malibu that needed a rebuild for $500. The one that is in the 90 CC I might have sold for $500 which also needs a rebuild. If you need a TBI 454 setup, I got the whole thing......
Is the TBI on it at least?

Around here a rebuildable 454 goes for $500.00 and a running goes for around $800.00

in so cal Im seeing 454's go for 500-1500 needs rebuild no FI.

Just gave $3k for 2 454s. One is "freshly rebuilt with a mild cam" and the other was just pulled from a '79 1 ton CC. Both are complete with brackets. That price included shipping them in.
Around here you can't find a 454. Every junk yard within 50 miles said no BB. Local machine shop wanted $1750 for a complete core needing rebuilt. It's crazy.

Hmm, I know a guy who has a 98 454 with 30k. He wants $800 for it 
. I would use it, but I get bad enough gas mileage as it is Maybe I should buy it and drop it in anyways
