Is anyone aware of anything cool that will fit in that compartment where the head unit was besides that worthless pocket that can't really hold anything in place? Fabricating is ok, its just a matter of finding something to fit like a touch screen for radio/gps...something like that. :dunno:

I don't think that's what he is looking for, he likely already has that part.
I figured he could put a DIN chassis in there (I think that kit will mount either type of head unit).

Ya, I figured they would. And just think, someone got paid big $$$ to design that piece of crap. :haha:

yeah, the cd holder is what I have in there and your right, hit the gas, and it all comes out. I think I may have found a TomTom GPS that might fit, but still looking.

Wouldn't it be tough to see a GPS if placed there? A dash-mount portable GPS would be another option for GPS. As for the cd-holder, a DIN-style bracket and audio equalizer would fit. Or a CB-radio connected to a speaker in the center-dash spot. Just my $.02.

i installed the pocket unit. then cut hole in back side and poped in a trans temp gauge and had a little pocket still.
