I want to go ahead and locate a 6 lug 14 bolt sf for my 97 k1500, so if/ when i grenade the 10 bolt if will have it ready to swap in. My question is, are all 88-98 14 bolt sf the same width? I read on another forum that the 2wd 14sf were 3" shorter than the 4x4 one's, is this true? Because it is a lot easier for me to find a 2wd light duty 6 lug 2500 88-98 in the junk yard and i can get 14bolt sf pretty cheap out of one of those.

thanks

A few years ago I put a 2wd 6 lug 14sf in my 96' Z-71, everything was the exact same as the 10b.

Thanks for the info.I was thinking there is no way the 2wd 14b sf is shorter than the 4wd, but i just wanted to be sure. Has any body else swapped in a 14 bolt sf in there 88-98 4x4?

in the s10 world, 4wd axles are 4" wider than 2wd axles. it has something do with the large BS of factory 4x4 rims.
