88 c30 2wd to 4wd SAS *NEW TELLICO WHEELING PICS!

more pics tomorrow, i didnt get the camera tonight. Ill probably be rolling on stock weenie wheels for a little while till i strike a deal with the guy i want the tires from. (he is being a little resistant to my powers of persuasion.... :) ) i just want to get it moving so i can get it out of the garage at least.

eventually I do want 42's, but lack of fundage and pity for my temporary 10 bolt front inspired mme to try and get my hands on a set of 38x12.5 swampers we have here. Its kinda amazing, but when I think about it, this entire project has gone this far with next to no monetary input. Everything is taken from something else. someday once i get the 60 and doubler in i will definately be getting the 42's, tho.

I like the fact how your doing this project using pieces from other types of cars.. must be really good on your wallet.. any ways sweet cross member. What piece did you use for your notched opening.. ??
Cory

Yeah, My wallet is thanking me profusely. if We didnt have a fairly active amateur car scrapping center here, and if I hadnt spent 3 years gathering parts for the blazer I dont have any more, I wouldnt be moving nearly this fast.

I'll post what that bridge piece is tomorrow, unless someone can figure it out first.... :surepal: you've all seen it before.....

I forget what the 2wd shock mount looks like, but it looks like a bigger version of that....so like a shock mount from anotehr truck or part of the spring bucket/bracket from teh front 2wd suspension.

Nice spot. I had one of these from dismantling a blazer, and as I was looking through the scrap pile, i saw it and thought, I wonder? Worked out pretty nice.

hey do you have any flat top knuckles for your ten bolt? I have an extra set, maybe we could work somethin out. just shoot pm if ur interested..

I do have flattops for the 10b, im not sure if im going to use them tho, i think im justgoing to rig an idler arm to tierod "z-link" system for now.

Thats cool i didnt't know if you had some or not.. i don't know how well the z link steering would hold up.. I know that i wouldn't mind spending a little extra money on the steering because that is a very essential(sp?) part of saftey.. but i'm sure you know that, cuz you done a hellofa job so far on this truck..

yeah, I know I shouldnt skimp on the steering, but due to the budget I'm not gonna dump any $$ into the steering on an axle i hope to replace by next year with a 60. The Z link will not be perfect, but Ill make sure its safe. I really cant see the z link getup im making being much worse (if any) than the corrected stock type steering on some 73-87 rigs ive seen, the connecting link will be close to 30 " long on my setup (2.5-3 times longer than stock 73-87 drag link, and it's parallel to axle) , utilizing the stock idler arm, i think it will get me by till i get a 60 and hydro assist.

Well I'm sure you'll do it right, everything on this truck seems to being going good, so you shouldn't have a problem with the steering then.. (knock on wood)..
When do you think you will have the steering hooked up? Whats your plans for getting the truck on some rubber, and pulling that bad boy outta the garage?

Just wonderinf if you have done any more progress since last week? Have you got your steering figured out, and did you get that deal on the 38's?
