I think I found my new tow rig. It is a forestry truck. It used to be a military app. I am hoping for 4.10 60/14 bolt combo. With a t400/205. How were the military crews equipped? I know it's a 350 tbi gas motor with an auto. 3+3 long box of course.

Help!!!

Help!!!

i believe it has 4.56s...but other then that, i dont no much about military spec.

I know the 1008 and 1028 had 4.56 with the 6.2. But this a gas motor truck.

Anybody else?

Probably an Air Force or Navy non tactical truck. Not like the CUCV. No grill guard, stripped interior, most likely a 12 volt system, driveline should be 60/14/TH400/205. Going to agree with 4.10 gears.

Sticker in the glove box with RPO codes? (no idea if any gov-destined trucks got the stickers)

All you need are any codes that start with "G" if three letter/number codes, or second character being "G" if 4 letter codes.

The truck is 400 miles away. So looking in the glove box is not an option.

Thanks for the input guys. Popular consensus say d60/14-4.10 t400/205.

The seller won't look for you?

Plenty of times I've asked them to check the codes or whatever before spending my hard earned dime driving someplace just to find out its something I wasn't interested in.

Sounds like you are more curious than requiring the gears to be X ratio though, so probably not a big deal.

It's from an auction. No pics. Very little info but the price is pretty good so far.

My 86 CC is an ex-air force truck... Dana 60 front, 14b rear, 350/400/205. 4.10 gears... yes, it did state in the glovebox that it has 4.10 gears... there's the possibility of a 208 case, but you never know... yes, it's an all 12 volt system and is very spartan, but it doesn't bother me...

how i found it on Ebay:

yeah, she needs a little work, especially springs, which i hope like hell i can afford by the end of the month... then, 37's...

she's always changing... i was going to go to the stock air force blue, then do grey leaves over the truck... but even with the Niagara Falls AFB nearby, it's still $250 a gallon for the blue... nope, sorry, not worth it...!

so i'm going to rattle-can it in 'grabber green', and do black leaves over it... then clear it and it should hold up enough for what i throw at it... then touch it up when i need to...

BTW - my first pic, from ebay, was from about February...
